The safe transporting of children and young adults accepting our CABY^© service is not seen as a separate dimension but is integral to the planning and delivery of care.
These Terms and Conditions have been developed to provide clear guidance for trips of children and young adults, to ensure a lawful, transparent, and consistent approach to the safety of passengers.

1. Seatbelts will be the first line of defence in protecting children on the road in all Public Transport Vehicles.
2. Coupled with defensive driving, CABY’S Driver Partners will always ensure that children travel safely when booking a ride on the CABY APP.

1. Parents and Children have responsibilities when it comes to staying safe in CABY’S vehicles. Children occupy CABY’S vehicles daily, therefore, they should be taught rules for safe travelling. Parents are encouraged to explain to children the rules to be followed, irrespective of the driver of the vehicle or the distance of travel.
2. Some of the responsibilities include, but is not limited to the following:
   1. Parents Responsibilities
   2. Ensure the child arrives at the pick-up point on time so they do not have to be rushed.
   3. Advise the child on what to do should the ride be late or not arrive.
   4. Teach children about road safety and how to act sensibly and safely during rides.
   5. Ensure children adhere to the driver’s instruction regarding safe travel.
   6. Parents may be held responsible for a child vandalizing the vehicle.
   7. Designated adults should be at the pickup and drop off points.
   8. Wait for children on the side of the road the driver will drop them off. Avoid having the child cross the road on their own.
   9. Parents must ensure that payment is secured.
3. Children’s Responsibilities
   1. Fasten seat belts before the vehicle is in motion and leave on until the end of the trip.
   2. Remain seated with the seat belt fastened at all times.
   3. Behave sensibly and safely at all times. Any actions such as jumping, yelling, etc. can cause distractions to the driver and may put all the passengers at risk.
   4. Treat the driver and fellow passengers with respect by following reasonable instructions, avoiding confrontation or the use of abuse or inappropriate language or gestures.
   5. Do not interfere with equipment in the vehicle.
   6. Store bags and belongings safely.
   7. Always be conscious of personal safety.

1. Seatbelts must be worn during all trips. Should a child refuse to wear a seat belt, under no circumstance will the child be transported.
2. Vehicles have lap and seatbelts that buckle as a unit. Children should ensure the belt is secured.
3. Seat belts are not to be tucked under their armpits under any circumstance. This action will make the seat belt less effective during an accident.
4. Seat belts must not be shared. Two or more children are not allowed to buckle up together.
5. Children are required to sit in the back seat. This protects them from injury should a passenger-side air bag deploy. Air bags could cause children severe injury.
6. Children may not use the main controls of vehicles or steer cars.
7. Children should hold onto the handrail and step down slowly and carefully. Once children have exited the vehicle, they should ensure that they are on the pavement and remain still until they feel safe and in the care of an adult.

If a child becomes distressed to the extent that the safety of the vehicle or occupants may be compromised, the vehicle must be stopped in a safe and legal manner. The appropriate emergency support service should be summoned with immediate effect, and the parent responsible for booking the ride will be contacted immediately by the CABY Contact Centre, who will support the parents until the situation is sorted, and the child is calm. However, should the situation require Medical Support, CABY support staff will summon the required Road Assist Teams.
